Transferring images involves
slightly more than simply copying them from one place to another.
You will need to not only copy the images into the new location,
but also make sure that Summation is looking in the correct place
for the images. Please note that this week's tip only applies
to images that have been accessible by Summation in another location.
This will not solve problems encountered with discs fresh from
a scanning bureau or other source.
This tip also assumes that the default dir for your images is
@I (the letter following the @ sign being a capital i ). The '@I'
points Summation to the default image location. You can determine
what the default directory is for an image through the document
database. Select an entry with an image associated with it. Click
on 'Summary' and then select 'Edit Image Information'.

Near the center of the new window is a field called 'Default Dir'.
The value in that field is the default directory for that image.
If the value in that field is @I, then you are ready to copy your
images.

The easiest and most efficient way to do this is through Windows
Explorer. Simply drag and drop, cut and paste, or whatever your
preferred method is. Be sure to make note of the location of your
images.
After you have completed copying your images, open Summation and
go to the case that the images are associated with. Click on 'Case'
on the menu bar and then select 'Customize'. Near the bottom of
the window that appears, you will see a field labeled 'Image Location:'.
Click once within that field and then click on the button in the
upper left corner that is labeled 'Change Location'. (Or double
click within the field)

Then simply browse to the folder in which your images are now
located.

Once you are there, select 'OK', it will ask you to verify the
new location, if that is where you wanted it, select 'OK' again.
When you select 'OK' to exit case customize, it will notify you
that changes have been made to the case and ask if you want to
save changes. Select 'OK' once again.
