Restoring Document Summary and Note Databases

  Overview:

The data for both your transcript annotations and document summaries is stored in databases. Each time you use Summation’s Backup a Database feature, use CopyCase to overwrite an existing case, or use Purge Orphaned Notes a backup copy of your database(s) and/or note file is created. These backups can be easily restored at any time using the Restore Database feature, available from the Case menu. Database backups created performing different Summation functions are labeled accordingly:
  • USER (created using Backup a Database)
  • COPYCASE (created when using CopyCase)
  • PURGE (Note files only – created when using Purge Orphaned Notes)

Summation keeps track of the date, time, and number of records of each backup. To view the number of records contained in any backup, click the desired database line so that it becomes highlighted, then click the Detail button. Summation then lists the number of records in each table in this database in the Database Detail dialog.
