The size of some Summation cases makes it difficult to copy onto floppy disks or even ZIP disks, sometimes CDs are necessary to transport cases. Since Summation cannot write directly to CDs it is necessary to use the software that came with your CD burner to do this. Getting a case on the CD is pretty simple, you merely copy the entire case folder. Getting
the case from the CD to another version of Summation resembles the process of copying a case without using copycase. The major difference is that when you copy the data from the CD it may be necessary to remove the 'Read Only' attribute. You do this through Windows Explorer. All that needs to be done is select all the files that
you transferred from the CD. Right click on them, select 'Properties' and deselect the 'Read Only' attribute.
If this attribute is not removed, it can cause many misleading errors when trying to work in the new case. Images don't require the removal of this attribute since there will be no editing done to the image files. Having 'Read Only' attributes on other files, such as database files will not only prevent editing of database records, but will also cause problems during checking, packing
and blazing, and also when trying to add new records. There is no harm in removing it from all the files that you copy from the CD to your hard drive, if you prefer to make certain you will not run into this problem.
