Arranging Document Database Windows

  Overview:

To view two parts of the document database at once for coding purposes, use the Arrange Windows feature. This is useful when you need to view the image or full-text document that corresponds to each summary in the database in order to code it. Instead of moving and sizing the windows manually; simply indicate which two windows (Column, Form, Image, ocrBase) you want to view simultaneously, and Summation displays them for you. Choose between viewing them sided by side, or one on top of the other. For more flexibility with your form size, take advantage of the differently-shaped coding forms available when using Summation’s STDFORM. Both windows are updated as you go through your database summaries. When viewing a full-text document you can drag and drop text into a field in the form window.

How to Arrange Document Database Windows

  1. Open the document database.

  2. From the Window menu, select Arrange Windows.

  3. The Arrange Windows dialog appears. Click on the down arrow next to the box corresponding to the left or top window (left if you select portrait, top if you select landscape), and select the desired one.

  4. Click on the down arrow next to the box corresponding to the right or bottom window (right if you select portrait, bottom if you select landscape), and select the desired one.

  5. To select the orientation of the windows (either side by side or one on top of the other), click on either portrait or landscape.

  6. To select the position of the window split, either:
    a. Click on the splitter bar and drag it to the desired position, or
    b. Use the scroll bar beneath the splitter bar.

  7. Click on OK. The windows are now shown simultaneously.
