  Summation Tutorial:

Activating Realtime on a Network

  Overview:

Interactive Realtime is generally used on a portable or stand-alone computer, as opposed to a network workstation. Thus, we have shipped network systems with Realtime access turned off.

In the event that you want Summation Realtime on your network workstation, follow the steps below:

Steps:

  1. After a successful installation, Exit/close Summation and (using Windows Explorer) go to your Summation Program File directory.

  2. Open the file SWADMIN.INI in Notepad

  3. Add the following line below the [Admin] section:

    EnableRealTime=1
    Example:
    [Admin]
    ProgDir=C:\SW52\
    RootDir=C:\Blaze\
    EnableRealTime=1

  4. Save your changes and close the file.

    At this point you will need to download and choose to save the file (dcsink.dll) into your Windows/system folder if you are running a Win 95/98 operation system or into your WINNT/System32 directory.

    Re-open Summation and verify Realtime activation by going to Help --> Module Activation --> Other. In the menu that appears, Realtime should now be checked.

    If you have an idea for Summation's Tip of the Week, or would like clarification on specific procedures contact us, we welcome your suggestions. Should you require assistance with an issue, contact our Technical Support Staff.
