Product Versions
Summation Legal Technologies' product line includes three different
product versions,
each with differing levels of end-user functionality. These products
include Summation
Blaze LG 2.0, Summation Blaze LG Gold 2.0, and Summation iBlaze
2.0. Please see the
Summation products web page for functionality details at:
http://www.summation.com/products.
Note:
The installation procedures are the same regardless of the product
version.
Installation Types
In addition to the three product versions,
each product can be purchased as a
mobile/stand-alone edition or as a network/concurrent-user edition.
The installation
procedures for the mobile and network editions differ. Prior to
beginning the installation process, you will need to determine
whether you are performing a new installation or an upgrade to
an existing product and carefully read through all of the steps
for the appropriate (mobile or network, new or upgrade) installation
type.
| |
Mobile/Stand-alone installation:
This type of installation
allows the user to use the Summation application whether
or not they are connected to the Local Area Network (LAN).
The case data (core database, images, transcripts, etc.)
can be stored on the local computer hard drive, or in a
shared location on the network.
Network/Concurrent-user
installation:
This type of installation
requires that the client computer be connected to the network
where the Summation application is installed in order to
use it. The Summation application is actually located in
a shared network location and can be run concurrently by
more than one user at the same time. The case data (core
database, images, transcripts, etc.) can be stored on the
local computer hard drive or, more typically, on a shared
location on the network.
|
NOTE: The
product version and installation type are determined by the serial
number / install code issued upon purchase of the product. If
you have questions regarding your product version or install type,
please contact the Summation sales department at:

Summation Blaze LG, Blaze LG
Gold, Network/Concurrent-User Edition Installation
The installation procedure for installing
the Network/Concurrent-user edition of your Summation product is
a two-step process.
Please take careful note of which
computer is being referenced (workstation or server) as well as
which step in the process you are working on (server installation
or client installation).
Step One:
The "server installation"
must be installed to a network location. Note that the "server
installation" only needs to be performed once for
each Summation network/concurrent-user system and does not require
registration of Summation components on the server.
Please note that if you want to take advantage of Summation's
integration with Windows NT security, the server must be part
of a Windows NT domain and must NOT be a Domain Controller. If
you are using Summation standard security, then the server can
be a Domain Controller, a Member Server, or even a Novell server.
See the Summation help files for further information on security.
Step Two:
The "client installation"
setup must be run on the individual computers that will need to
access the Summation network/concurrent-user edition product.
Note that the "client installation"
portion registers several components on the individual client
computers and MUST be run on all of the client machines any time
the "server installation"
is upgraded to a newer version.
You will need access to both a workstation
computer and to a shared directory located on the server
that will host your Summation concurrent-user edition system.
Summation DOES NOT recommend or support running the Summation
"server installation"
portion of the install directly from the server
desktop. In addition, both computers (workstation and server)
must be on the same Local Area Network (LAN).
If you are installing on a Novell Server, be sure to review the
next section of this manual entitled "Novell Issues"
PRIOR to installation.
Server
Installation Procedure (new installation):
- Create a shared directory on your network
server if one does not
already exist. If
you do not have a shared directory available on your network,
please see your server/network administrator for assistance.
- Locate the product installation CD-ROM
and place it in the CD-ROM drive of
your workstation computer.
- The setup program should begin automatically.
If setup does not begin automatically, use the Windows explorer
to navigate to your CD-ROM drive (typically drive D) and double-click
on the "setup.exe" file.
- The installation
program will walk you through the following steps:
| a. |
Entering
company information and serial number. |
| b. |
Displaying
the license agreement. |
| c. |
Choosing
your target directory (network share location where you
want to install your server components). This location
should be a mapped drive or a UNC path (i.e. \\ServerName\ShareName\SubDir),
NOT A LOCAL HARD DRIVE LOCATION. Note that the application
files should be placed in a sub-directory under the shared
directory, not directly on the "root" of the
shared directory, as some versions of windows do not support
running an application directly from the "root"
of the shared directory. |
| d. |
Choosing which program
components to install. |
| e. |
Choosing
the location of the "client
installation" setup software. Summation recommends
that you choose the default location if possible. |
| f. |
Determining whether
you have enough available disk space. |
| g. |
Copying files to your
shared network location (UNC path or mapped drive). |
- The "server
installation" portion of the installation is complete.
In order to begin using the network/concurrent-user application,
proceed to the "client installation"
procedures and run the "client
installation" for each client that will need access
to the network/concurrent-user application.
Server Installation Procedure
(upgrade installation)
-
Locate and log on to the same workstation that was used
to create the original
server installation.
Note: If
the original workstation
that you performed the "server
installation" from
is no longer available, please follow the server installation
procedures for new installations starting with step 2 in the
"Server installation Procedure (new installation)"
section above.
- Locate the product installation CD-ROM
and place it in the CD-ROM drive of your workstation
computer. The setup program should begin automatically. If setup
does not begin automatically, use Windows Explorer to navigate
to your CD-ROM drive and double-click on the "setup.exe"
file.
- The installation program will detect
a previous version of Summation on your
system and ask if you want to perform an upgrade to your existing
server.
| a. |
Click "Yes"
if you want to perform an upgrade to your existing server
files, such as an upgrade from version 1.1 to 2.0. |
| b. |
Click "No"
if you want to perform a completely new installation or
upgrade to a different type
of system, such as upgrade from a 3-node network to a
10-node network, or from Blaze LG to iBlaze. If you choose
"No", please follow the server installation
procedures for new installations starting with step 2
in the "Server installation Procedure (new installation)"
section above. |
- After clicking
"Yes", the installation
program will walk you through the following steps:
| a. |
Browsing
to the location of the server files you want to update. |
| b. |
Displaying
the license agreement. |
| c. |
Choosing
which program components to install. |
| d. |
Choosing the location
of the "client installation" setup software.
Summation recommends that you choose the default sub-directory
of "Client Setup" if possible. |
| e. |
Determining
whether you have enough available disk space. |
| f. |
Copying files to your
shared network location (UNC path or mapped drive). |
- The "server installation" portion
of the upgrade is completed. Before you attempt to use the network/concurrent-user
client application, proceed to the "Client
installation procedures (new and upgrade installations)"
section and run the client installation to update each client
that will be accessing the network/concurrent-user application.
Client Installation Procedures
(new and upgrade installations)
-
While sitting at the workstation computer, use the Windows
Explorer to navigate to the location where you chose to install
the client files. The default location is the "Client
Setup" folder located in the Summation application directory
(i.e. \\SummationServer\ShareName\SubDir\Client Setup).
- Double-click on the "setup.exe"
file
- The installation program will walk you
through the following steps:
| a. |
Displaying
the license agreement. |
| b. |
Choosing
which program components to install. |
| c. |
Copying
files to your system. |
| d. |
Installing
MDAC 2.6 (if necessary).
If MDAC 2.6 was not already installed on your machine,
you may be asked to reboot your system upon completion
of the installation process. |
| e. |
Registering
newly installed files. |
- The client
installation is complete; you can now launch the application
from the desktop shortcut o your start menu.
Additional Installation Notes
Citrix server / Terminal server
installations
Follow the installation procedures
for the network/concurrent user installation. Run the "server
installation" section from a separate workstation, placing
the files on a shared server network location that is available
to the Citrix / Terminal server. Run the "client installation"
from the add/remove programs tool on the Citrix / Terminal server.
If you want to publish the Summation application, the application
you are publishing is located on the Summation application directory
on the network (i.e. \\SummServer\SummShare\SubDir\sw32.exe).
If you plan to publish the Summation network edition client, you
MUST run the client installation process from the Add/Remove programs
applet prior to publication.
"Push" installation methods
Summation network edition client installations
can be deployed using various "push" installation methods
such as Active Directory, Microsoft Systems Management Server
(SMS), etc. that use windows installer files (.msi). The "Summation
Blaze LG Client.msi" file located in the Client Setup directory
of the server installation supports silent installation mode when
run from the Client Setup directory. Note that in order to use
the MSI in "silent mode", the sw.ver" file created
during the server installation must be present in the same directory
as the MSI file. The sw.ver file was generated during the "server
installation" step, and contains important version and server
file location information.
Return to menu
In a mixed Windows NT / Novell networking
environment, some additional issues may
arise in regards to the form editor. The most important consideration
when planning your
deployment to a Novell network server is to keep all directory names
to 8 characters or
less and file names to 8 characters or less (8 characters plus 3
characters for the extension
is acceptable). Please read these notes in their entirety prior
to installing Summation on a
Novell-based network.
Form Editor:
- If the Summation Blaze LG application
directory is on a path containing long filenames or spaces,
the Form Editor will not be available. Please be sure that the
path to the files stored on your Novell server does not contain
directories or files that exceed 8 characters, contain spaces,
or special characters.
- If a new case is created in Summation
Blaze LG (or iBlaze) AND
- IF the case name has spaces or special characters in it, OR
- IF the name is longer than 8 characters, OR
- IF the Case Create location is on a path containing long filenames,
- THEN the Form Editor will not be available to that specific
case.
- If a case was created using 5.x and then
converted to a Summation Blaze LG case,
the Form Editor will function normally. This is recommended
as an option only
while in transition from Blaze 5.x to Blaze LG/iBlaze while
the case is being
shared between the two different versions.
- When creating new cases in Blaze LG/iBlaze
on a Novell server, you can avoid Novell-related issues by creating
cases with short names (8 characters or less, and no spaces
or special characters). Once the case has been created, you
can rename the case to something more descriptive (longer with
spaces and/or special characters).
Return to menu
Existing data in a Summation 5.x system
can be used in the new Blaze LG product following a brief conversion
process. You only need to convert the cases when upgrading from
an existing Blaze 5.x product to a new Blaze LG product. Two conversion
stages must be performed as outlined below.
Stage 1 Conversion: Converting
the SumCase Files
The stage 1 Conversion reads the Version
5.x SumCase database and creates (.CI) files for each case. Unlike
Blaze 5.x products, Summation Blaze LG products no longer use
the SumCase database structure to maintain case information. This
new structure facilitates organizing and setting security for
the Case Listing.
When you open Summation and choose to open
a different case (from by selecting "open" from the
"case" menu), the Stage 1 conversion process is automatically
triggered. If the conversion process is not triggered automatically,
the stage 1 conversion can be activated manually by choosing "open"
from the "case" menu. In the "Select a Case to
Load" dialog, highlight and right-click "Summation Cases"
in the case tree, choose to "Convert Prior Version Sumcase
DB".

Begin stage
1 Conversion:
-
In the first text box enter the path where the Blaze 5.x
SumCase database is located. (SumCase typically is found in
the Blaze 5.x program directory.) If you click on the "Default
Dirs" button, Summation will try to find the correct
directory for you.
Example of "Convert Prior
Version Sumcase DB" Window.
- In the second text box, leave "Summation
Blaze Cases To Convert" in the text box to
help you segregate cases that have not undergone the Stage 2
conversion process from the LG-ready cases.
- If you want to convert a particular case,
enter the name of that case in the third text box.
It must be the exact case name used in Blaze 5.x Case Open dialog.
If you leave this box
empty, all cases will be converted. Summation recommends that
you leave this box empty in order to prepare ALL of the existing
cases for the stage 2 conversion process.
- Click the "Copy
to CI Files" button. This will start the Stage 1
Conversion by reading
the SumCase database from the location you have specified in
the first text box and creating a .CI file for each case, or
the specified case.
Note: If invalid file
name characters (e.g."/") were used in the 5.x case
names, those characters will be modified during the conversion.
- A message appears on the screen indicating
the number of cases that were converted.
Close the message box by clicking the "OK" button.
Once the stage 1 conversion is complete,
you will see a list of cases in the "Summation Blaze Cases
to Convert" directory. These cases are now ready for stage
2 conversion.
Stage
2 Conversion (Moving Files):
The Stage 2 Conversion is the most critical,
because the database files are copied into the new Summation Blaze
LG/iBlaze structure. Do not
interrupt this conversion process!
Summation highly recommends that you
that you have a current backup copy of your cases prior to starting
the conversion process. Summation will not be responsible for
lost or damaged data.
Stage 2 moves or copies database files,
digest files, Case Organizer files, and the images with their
5.x markups (redactions & stamps). This process is accomplished
quickly, because the entire set of database files is moved using
a shell move instead of copying the files to the new structure.
This also reduces the risk of damage to the data.
Before proceeding with the Stage 2 conversion process, verify
that there are not users currently in the case. Failure to do
this may cause irreparable harm to your data.
To launch the Stage 2 Conversion:
- Open the "Select a Case to Load"
dialog. Concurrent User (Network) Version: Make sure no other
users are currently in the 5.x version or the Blaze LG/iBlaze
version of the case. If users are still in the case during this
process, serious data loss may occur.
- Select the case to be converted from
the "Summation Blaze Cases to Convert" directory by
highlighting the case name and clicking on the "select"
button.
- The following message appears:
- To proceed with the conversion, click
on "Yes". To cancel the conversion, click on "No".
If you select "No", the case will not be converted
and you will not be able to open that case with Summation Blaze
LG/iBlaze. If you select "Yes", the files are copied
and a message appears indicating that the conversion was successful.
The case then opens in the appropriate Summation Blaze LG product.
Note: Summation suggests
that the user installing the Blaze LG system should open as
many cases as possible to trigger the Stage 2 conversion and
reduce the number of cases others will have to convert at a
later time.
- Once the Stage 2 conversion is complete,
other users on a concurrent user network system can access the
case in either Summation 5.x or Summation LG/iBlaze.
Example of Case Selection Window.
Return to menu
Once a case has been converted, the Case
Database including the Note Database, ocrBase, Images, and Transcripts
will become simultaneously available in both systems. This means
that users in the Blaze 5.x environment will share the same data
with users in the Blaze LG environment. Any modifications to the
Case Database or Note Database, annotations in the ocrBase or transcripts,
and markups on Images will be available to both sets of users.
During the conversion process, the Case Organizer is copied from
the Blaze 5.x system to the Blaze LG system, but is not "shared"
by users in the two environments. Following the one-time conversion,
changes made to the Case Organizer in the Blaze 5.x system will
not be reflected in the Blaze LG system and vice-versa. The two
groups will be working with two different sets of Case Organizers.
The Blaze 5.x system records the list of transcripts loaded in a
case in the SUM.TFT file, whereas the Blaze LG system records the
list in the SUM.XFT file. During the conversion process, the list
of transcripts loaded in a case is copied from the Blaze 5.x file
SUM.TFT) to the Blaze LG file (SUM.XFT). Once a case has been converted,
a transcript that is loaded through the Blaze LG system will display
in both systems (Blaze 5.x and Blaze LG) automatically, as the transcript
information is written to both the SUM.TFT file and the SUM.XFT
file. A transcript loaded through the Blaze 5.x system should display
in the Blaze LG system, as the transcript information is written
to the SUM.TFT file and then transferred to the SUM.XFT. If a transcript
loaded through Blaze 5.x does not display in Blaze LG, then users
can synchronize the SUM.XFT with the SUM.TFT manually. To manually
synchronize the Blaze 5.x transcript list with the Blaze LG transcript
list: right-click on the Transcript folder in the Case Explorer,
select the Transcript Utilities option, and click the Sync with
Tft option in the context menu.
Example of Transcript Utilities
Menu.

Once the case has been converted, images
will display in the Blaze LG system as they would in the Blaze
5.x system. Redactions and stamps are copied once from the Blaze
5.x system to the Blaze LG system during the conversion. This
is a one-time conversion, but redactions and stamps made in the
Blaze 5.x system can be copied to the Blaze LG system by selecting
Add 5x Markups from the Image Viewer's Option drop-down menu.
Example of Image Viewer Drop Down
Menu.

The copy process can be performed at any
time, as well as multiple times in a case. It is important to
note that Blaze LG products include new markup capabilities not
available in Blaze 5.x products. Therefore, redactions, stamps
and other markups can only be copied from the Blaze 5.x to Blaze
LG, but not vice-versa. Similarly, new image file types supported
by the Blaze LG viewer (i.e. multi-page Tiffs, color images, JPEGs,
BITMAPs, and PDFs) cannot, of course, be viewed in the Blaze 5.x
system.
Summation Blaze LG Version 2 products offer
a greatly enhanced ocrBase. It is important that the ocrBase raw
data is re-indexed once the Blaze LG Version 2 software has been
installed. The ocrBase file size limit increased from 2 GBs to
10 GBs in Blaze LG Version 2 systems, yet the 2 GB file size limit
is still maintained in Blaze 5.x systems. When sharing a case
between a Blaze 5.x and LG system it is important to ensure that
the ocrBase does not exceed the 2 GB file size limit, since the
Blaze 5.x system is not designed to handle such a large ocrBase.
During the conversion process, users' database
settings are copied from the Blaze 5.x system to the Blaze LG
system, eliminating the need for users to re-implement their settings
(i.e. displayed columns, sort order, etc.). Subsequent changes
to users' database settings will be saved separately in the Blaze
5.x system and Blaze LG system.
Although backups and restores can be performed
from either the Blaze 5.x system or the Blaze LG system, backups
are saved in different locations by each system. Therefore, it
is important that users are consistent and perform backups and
restores of the Document and Notes databases from the same system
(either the Blaze 5.x or the Blaze LG system).
The Blaze 5.x program has not been changed,
therefore using a Blaze 5.x system will not give you the advantage
of the new Blaze LG case organization tools, such as Saved Queries,
Image Slideshows, Transcript Evidence hyperlinking, etc. However,
sharing a case with a Blaze 5.x system will not limit functionality
in the Blaze LG system or affect users' ability to use the new
features.
Please note that sharing databases between
versions is only intended to be used for a temporary transition
period, and Summation DOES NOT recommend continuing the sharing
for any longer than necessary to accommodate the transition period.

| Client
installation: |
|
| Q: |
When I install
Summation network edition, should I perform the server installation
at the server console or from a client workstation? |
| A: |
The installation
of a Summation network/concurrent-user edition requires that
you install from a separate workstation to a shared network
directory to which you have read/write permissions. |
|
| Q: |
Now that I've installed
Summation network edition from a workstation to the server,
what's next? |
| A: |
All workstations that need
access to the Summation network edition as a client must have
the client software installed on the local workstation. By
default the client installation application is located in
your shared network application directory under the "Client
Setup" directory. |
|
| Q: |
I am ready to install the
Summation network edition's client software on the local machines
but I do not have a CD for the client installation. |
| A: |
This is by design. All
components necessary to run the client software's installation
are located in your Summation network edition's program directory,
within a folder named "Client Setup". To perform
this task, log into a client workstation and "browse"
to your Summation network program folder, locate the "Client
Setup" folder and run the "Setup.exe" file.
This will install the files necessary to run the Summation
network edition from that local machine. Perform this same
task on all machines that are intended to access Summation
network edition. |
|
| Q: |
I was installing the client
software for Summation network edition, I received the message:
'Unable to determine location of Summation network folder.' |
| A: |
A file in your "Client Setup" folder, the SW.VER
file, contains pathing information specifying where your
Summation network edition is installed on the network. The
client installation process reads this file for pathing
information. Below is an outline of the information that
the SW.VER file needs. You can open this file in Windows
Notepad and enter the following info into the "SW.VER"
file.
[sw]
Ver=200
AppDir="Path to Summation network edition program directory"
Note:
The "Path to Summation network edition program directory"
is
either a UNC path or mapped drive location on your Local
Area Network (LAN). Save the file and rerun the client installation.
|
|
| Q: |
If I update a Summation
Blaze LG 1.x network edition installation to a Summation Blaze
LG 2.x network edition installation, do I need to update the
client software as well as the server installation? |
| A: |
Yes, if you are updating
your Summation network edition product, your client workstations
needs to rerun the client "setup.exe" program to
update the client software on every workstation. Failure to
do this step EVERY TIME you update your Summation installation
will cause unpredictable program behavior. |
|
| Q: |
I purchased a 10-node Blaze
LG network edition system. I have 15 users that will be accessing
this 10-node network edition system. Can I install the Summation
Blaze LG network edition client on all 15 computers? |
| A: |
Yes. The number of "nodes"
in your network edition system refers to the number of users
that can connect to your network system CONCURRENTLY (at the
same time) not the number of computers on which the client
software is installed. Note that, in this case, up to 10 network
clients will be able to use the network installation at once. |

| Stage
1 Conversion: |
|
| Q: |
Now that I have
successfully installed Summation network edition on my server
and have installed client software on the workstations, what's
next? |
| A: |
At this point,
you are now ready to convert your 5.x cases. Please refer
to our documentation on "Case Conversion" outlined
previously in this manual. |
|
| Q: |
I just completed the installation
of my Summation network edition on my server and installed
client software on the workstations, but I do not see any
of my Summation Blaze 5.x cases. What's going on? |
| A: |
At this point your Summation
Blaze 5.x cases are ready to be converted. Please refer to
our documentation on "Case Conversion" outlined
previously in this manual. |
|
| Q: |
Before I proceed with the
Stage 1 Case Conversion, should I have all users exit the
5.x version of Summation? |
| A: |
Yes, it is absolutely imperative
that all users exit Summation 5.x during the entire Case Conversion
process. Failure to do so can cause irreparable damage to
your case data. |
|
| Q: |
While I was attempting
to run the Stage 1 Case Conversion, I received the message:
'Can't find Sumcase Database in
' |
| A: |
Please verify that the
field labeled "Enter the path to a Sumcase Database"
in the "Copy Sumcase database records to CI File Format"
dialog box contains the correct path to your Summation 5.x
directory. |
|
| Q: |
While I was attempting
to run the Stage 1 Case Conversion, I received the message:
'No Sumcase records found.' |
| A: |
This message
may indicate that either the field labeled "Enter the
path to a Sumcase Database" in the "Copy Sumcase
database records to CI File Format" dialog box contains
the incorrect path (this path should point at your Summation
5.x directory), or the message could mean that your cases
were already converted. |
|
| Q: |
Now that I am ready to
convert my Blaze 5.x cases, is there anything I should do
to prepare for the conversion process? |
| A: |
Yes, before converting
your cases to the new version of Summation, make sure that
you can successfully open all of your cases in Blaze 5.x.
If there is a problem opening them in Blaze 5.x, the conversion
to LG will not work correctly. |
|
| Q: |
I have cases created in
versions of Summation previous to version 5.x, is there any
preparation that needs to take place before converting my
cases? |
| A: |
Yes. Before converting
any of your cases that were created before Summation version
5.0 (Known as "old style database" or "RBF"
files), you will first need to convert the database files.
You can convert your pre-5.0 databases by pressing "Control+Shift+C"
from the Case Folder Main window in version 5.x (be sure to
follow all on screen prompts in carefully). Each case database
will have to be converted one at a time. |
|
| Q: |
How can I tell if any of
my databases were created previous to Summation version 5.0? |
| A: |
Open each of your cases.
From the menu bar, select Case and then click on Customize.
This screen will display the current case data's location.
Go to that location in Windows Explorer, you will know if
you are using an "old style database" by looking
at the file extension of your database files. If you see that
your database files are using the .RBF extension, this is
indicating that you have an "old style database"
and that your database will have to be converted using the
"Control+Shift+C" method mentioned above. |
|
| Q: |
Does the Case Conversion
process move any of my case data to another location? |
| A: |
No. The Case Conversion
process does not move any of your case data to another location.
Please see our Case Conversion documentation for more details. |
| |
|
| Stage
2 Conversion: |
|
| Q: |
After I have
completed the Stage 1 case conversion, what's next? |
| A: |
After you have
successfully completed the Stage 1 case conversion, you need
to follow the directions for the Stage 2 case conversion process
before your cases are available to your new Summation Blaze
LG/iBlaze application. Please see the Stage 2 case conversion
directions outlined previously in this manual. |
|
| Q: |
Before I proceed with the
Stage 2 case conversion, should I have all users exit the
Blaze 5.x application? |
| A: |
Yes, it is absolutely imperative
that all users exit Summation Blaze 5.x during the entire
case conversion process. Failure to do so can cause irreparable
damage to your case data. Also, please make sure that you
have full rights to all case directory paths and/or that none
of your case files are marked as read-only. |
|
| Q: |
While I was in the process
of performing a Stage 2 case conversion on one of my cases,
I received the message: 'The Case can not be converted at
this time because the case is open and it's database is in
use. Please have all users leave the case. Then try the conversion
again.' |
| A: |
If you received this message
during the Stage 2 case conversion, then one or all of the
following things are happening:
1) The case is open by another user; have that user exit the
case;
2) The case files for this case are marked read-only or you
do not have permissions to modify files in this directory.
Please make sure the read-only attribute is deactivated on
all case files and that you have read and write permissions
to all of the case directories before proceeding with the
case conversion. |
|
| Q: |
While I was in the process
of performing a Stage 2 case conversion on one of my cases,
I received the message: 'Can not read from file or source
disk.' |
| A: |
If you received this message
during the Stage 2 case conversion, then one or all of the
following things are happening:
1) The case is open by another user; have that user exit the
case;
2) The case files for this case are marked read-only or you
do not have permissions to modify files in this directory.
Please make sure the read-only attribute is deactivated on
all case files and that you have read and write permissions
to all of the case directories before proceeding with the
case conversion;
3) Your database files may not be located in the case directory.
If this is so, please move all database files (*.SE1, *.SE2,
*.SE3 and *.FRM) to the root level of the case directory to
successfully proceed with the Stage 2 case conversion process. |
|
| Q: |
While I was in the process
of the Stage 2 case conversion, I received the message: 'The
database directory is not the same as your case directory.
There is no conversion for cases with databases in alternate
directories. |
| A: |
To proceed
with a successful Stage 2 case conversion, move all database
files (*.SE1, *.SE2, *.SE3 and *.FRM) to the root level of
the case directory. Make sure to update the Case Customize
case data pointers to the new database file location. |
