  Summation Installation:

Installing Summation 5.x on a Peer-to-Peer Network

Instructions:

Follow these steps to install Summation Blaze for Windows' network edition on a peer-to-peer network. Note that you must have a computer that serves as a designated server.

  1. Identify a computer on the peer-to-peer network that will act as the network server for all Summation users.

  2. Identify the network drive letter on that server to be accessed by all remote users and where Summation will be installed.

  3. Map the network drive letter to the local drive on the workstation to be used as the server by adding a line to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file on that workstation in the following format:

SUBST [NETWORK drive letter]: [LOCAL drive letter]:

For example, where the NETWORK drive letter = L: and the LOCAL drive letter = C:, the command line would read:

    SUBST L: C:

  4. Reboot the server workstation so the re-mapping can take effect.

  5. Install Summation to the NETWORK drive.
