Unlocking The OcrBase

Overview:

Users may get a message indicating that the ocrBase is locked. The ocrBase is legitimately locked when documents are being loaded, or the ocrBase is being Blazed or packed. At these times, the users should wait until the operations being performed are complete. Other times, the ocrBase is locked as a result of a problem, such as after the user has crashed in Summation. A good way to determine if the ocrBase is legitimately locked is to note whether other users are in the case in Net Status. If there aren’t any other users in the case, you may have to manually unlock the ocrBase. It is recommended that you back up the ocrBase before proceeding.

Steps:

  1. User gets the message saying ocrBase is locked. Click on OK to close the message.

  2. Go to Net Status to verify that no other users are in the case.

  3. If there are no other users in the case, note the case directory, go to Explorer, and back up the FTX file (space permitting).

  4. Go back into the case in Summation and try to open the ocrBase in order to get the message that it is locked again.

  5. The user must press CTRL+SHIFT and click on OK (all simultaneously) in the message dialog in order to unlock the ocrBase.
