Copying a Database to Another Case
 
 
 
  1. Create a Case in the copy of Summation you want to copy the database TO.

  2. From the Case menu, select Customize. Write down to Case Directory (this is the directory you will copy the database TO.)

  1. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the case directory from Step 2.
  2. Create a folder in this directory called db2.
  3. Run the copy of Summation you want to copy the database FROM.
  4. Select the case with the database you want to copy.
  5. From the Options menu, select Utilities.
  6. Click on Copy Database. The Database to Copy From is filled in automatically. On the Database to Copy To line, enter (or browse to) the case directory you wrote down in step 2 plus the db2 directory. Give the database a slightly different name so that you are not overwriting the existing database (e.g. if the database name is SMITHDB, call it SMITH1DB).
  7. Run the copy of Summation you just copied the database TO.
  8. Select the new case created in step 1.
  9. From the Case menu, select Customize.
  10. Double-click on the Database Name Directory path. The Choose A Database to Load Dialog appears.

  11. Click on the Browse button. Double click on the db2 folder.
  12. Select the name of the database you copied in step 6.
  13. Click on OK to save changes when finished.
